    VOJN Primary scoops all trophies in Primary Schools Elocution Contest

    CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - VIOLET O. JEFFERS NICHOLLS PRIMARY SCHOOL  scooped all trophies in the SKNVibes.com Inter Primary Schools’ Category of the SKNVibes.com Independence 25 Elocution Contest held at the Nevis Cultural Centre on Monday, September 15.

     

    The contest was sponsored by SKNVibes and organised by the Department of Education in collaboration with HOPE, Nevis. All nine primary schools and the two secondary schools participated in the contest, which was an event organised to mark the 25th Independence Anniversary.

     

    Nijounte David won a trophy for placing first in the Kindergarten Category, Quetto Daniel in the Grade 5-4 Category and Shadecia Allen won in the Grade 5-6 Category.

     

    Akiana Sketton of Gingerland Secondary School (GSS) took the first position in the Forms 1-2 Category while Shelissa Glasford of Charlestown Secondary took home the Forms 3 – 4 Category’s trophy.

     

    At the close of the contest, Education Officer Palsy Wilkin said the judges and the officials present had assessed that the primary school children were full of enthusiasm and passion during the competition. 

     

    She thanked SKNVibes for its generous donation. She also thanked all those who demonstrated a high degree of team spirit while organising the contest. “It is the invaluable team effort of all nine primary schools,” she said and thanked HOPE, Nevis for their contribution in organising the contest.
