BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE New West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Chief Executive Officer, Michael Muirhead, will be officially introduced to the media of St. Kitts and Nevis tomorrow (Nov. 14) at a press conference to be held at Warner Park.

The trip to St. Kitts forms part of a Caribbean-wide programme of visits of the WICB to introduce their new Chief Executive Officer to the West Indian people, media and stakeholders of the sport.

The New CEO is also expected to meet with Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas before meeting with the media at 2:30 p.m.

Muirhead will lead the management of West Indies Cricket against the background of the structures that have already been employed and supported, and is expected to continue this momentum to take regional cricket forward.

The Board is confident that the appointment of Muirhead would ensure that West Indies cricket remains resolutely on the path to structured development and progress and that he is most capable of continuing the process of overseeing the implementation of the WICB Strategic Plan 2011-2016.

The 55-year-old CEO was a Management Consultant, firstly with Price Water House and served in senior management positions at the National Commercial Bank of Jamaica.

Muirhead has extensive experience in the financial and tourism development sectors, and during his career he also served on various Boards in Jamaica.

A father of two, Muirhead is married and is an avid sports and music enthusiast.

He succeeded Dr. Ernest Hilaire who took over as CEO of the WICB in September 2009 in place of Donald Peters and demitted office on September 30 after serving the three-year term of his contract.

The new CEO was introduced to the region at a press conference held in Barbados last month.
