                      St. Kitts Lions Club Thank Sponsors of Back-to-School Supplies

    ~~Adz:Right~~Basseterre, St. Kitts - As part of the St. Kitts and Nevis Independence Program organized for the 25th Anniversary Silver Jubilee Independence Celebrations, the St. Johnson Methodist Church Mothering Support Group presented a Back-to-School Prayer Service on Sunday 7th September 2008 under the theme: “25 Years as a Nation: Motivation of Our Youths Through Christian Values and Education”.

     

    At this service, The St. Kitts Lions Club presented basic back-to-school supplies (books, pens, pencils, rulers, sharpeners, erasers, etc) to the first twenty-five (25) primary school students arriving in uniform. On behalf of the grateful students, parents and teachers we thank our corporate sponsors(Laws Bookstore, Courts (St. Kitts) Ltd, Harpers Office Depot, Schools Apex Co-Operative, Cable & Wireless (bMobile), O.D. Brisbane & Sons, City Drug Store & TDC Office Supplies) for making this possible by donating school supplies in this worthy venture to equip our youth to excel with the tools required to succeed for the next twentyfive
    (25) years and beyond.

    About us: Since the St. Kitts Lion Club’s chartering in 1979, its members have worked on a variety of projects in the local community, including Diabetes Awareness, Sight Conservation & Eye Banks, Elegance, Children Fun Day, Accessible Sidewalks/Ramps, JNF KiddiePark, among others. Proceeds from past fundraising events have gone to various charities, scholarships and other causes to which the club has contributed. The St. Kitts Lions Club has 40 members and meet on 1st and 3rd Thursdays each month at 7:30pm at Lions Den University Centre, The Gardens.

     

    Lions Clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
