~~Adz:Right~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – RESIDENTS in the St. Johnson’s Village area were last night (Sept. 25) startled from sleep after a number of gunshots shattered the silence of an otherwise calm evening.
According to ‘witness’ reports, approximately ten bursts of gunfire were heard at 11:18 p.m. in the vicinity of Wigley Avenue. One source told SKNVibes that the gunshots came in quick succession but not fast enough to have come from a machine gun.
After the Defense Force switchboard operator was inundated with calls about the suspected gunfire, DF vehicles loaded with armed soldiers reportedly canvassed the area shortly thereafter.
SKNVibes spoke with a high ranking DF official who said that no signs of any violence were found in the area searched; however the soldiers had patrolled a wider area in search of possible suspects.
