BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AS a way of showing their appreciation for the work that the police have been doing, members of the public, during the course of the week, made two separate donations to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF).

Inspector Cromwell Henry, Press and Public Relations Officer of the RSCNPF, explained that one Sony 350 Series camera was donated by Frank Brand of Island Bakery and 10 traffic reflective safety vests were donated by Winston Browne Jr. and Katherine Alcock during a brief handing-over ceremony at Police Headquarters, Basseterre on Thursday, September 25.

“The Head of the Drug Squad [Sergeant Travis Rogers] had asked Franks Brand for that type of camera as it would be necessary for surveillance purposes, and he has now made good on his promise.

“In the case of the traffic jackets, the persons gave on their own initiative. Apparently, there was a night accident on Frigate Bay Road sometime this year and the officer addressing the matter was dressed in black and could not have been seen.

The lady driving along the road of the accident thought that her safety could have been compromised, and so, she, along with

    Traffic Vests

Winston Browne, gave 10 traffic vests in order to improve the safety of officers and make them more visible while working at nights.”

Henry sincerely thanked the donors for their concern in the safety of the police, which marks that many persons have the interest of the police at heart.

He stated that they were well-needed donations which are expected to aid police officers greatly and improve the overall work of the Force.

He informed that the donations have already been handed over to the storekeeper for distribution.

Inspector Henry added that he wishes to encourage more persons to contribute in similar ways to enable the police to carry out their mandate effectively and efficiently.  ~~Adz:Left~~
