Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 6th, 2012 (Seventh-day Adventist Church): Eighty-four new souls were baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Power in the Blood Extravaganza held over a five week period in Greenlands, St. Kitts.
The Extravaganza which began on October 28, 2012 ended on December 2, 2012 with a symbolic candle lighting ceremony. Scores of local Adventist church leaders lit the candles of church members symbolic of the unity within the church.
The unity candle lighting ceremony also represented the symbolic joining of church leaders and members in filling the dark world with the Light of the World and shining their lights for Christ within their communities. The sacred moment was facilitated by Evangelist of the Extravaganza, Pastor Sherwin A. E. White.
The aggressive work of church leaders and members resulted in the success of the Extravaganza. Realizing the magnitude of the evangelistic task, Pastor Sherwin A.E White, Pastor Kay White and several elders and church members on the island ventured the journey to prepare for the greatest evangelistic effort on the island one year before the actual Extravaganza. Guerilla marketing strategies were utilized to prepare the hearts of Kittitians.
Whistle Stops, Health Fairs, Prayers Walks, Media promotions and other community oriented services were coordinated and executed leading up to the Extravaganza. In addition, thousands of handbills and flyers flooded every community in St. Kitts inviting all to the meetings.
With over 700 visitors and members attending the crusade every week, Evangelist Sherwin A. E. White was encouraged by the support.
“In my estimation the attendance was excellent. The crusade team was dedicated to their tasks and I have received only positive feedback. The commitment of the general church membership on a nightly basis spoke volumes and concerning the visitors, I was encouraged.”
Additionally, Pastor White expressed his gratitude to God for being used in this venture.
“I am humbled to have been used by Christ. I am cognizant of the fact that the success of this assault against the devil's kingdom was a unified effort. God has rewarded our efforts and His Kingdom has been strengthened.”
The Extravaganza has spiritually awokened and revived Adventist church members on the island and the Kittitian community. The spirit-filled praise and worship sessions, the melodious musical renditions, informative sessions and biblically based sermons will always be memorable features in the minds of the hundreds of church members, government officials and community members who attended the meetings.
With its vibrant presence on the island, the Adventist Church on St. Kitts will continue through more strategic and diversified efforts, to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, baptize and retain members in the Kingdom of God.
