BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - BRANDED ‘The Bigger Better Network’, telecommunications company Digicel last Friday morning (Dec. 7) officially opened its new flagship store at The Circus, on the occasion of its seventh anniversary operating in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

The flagship store was declared open for business with a simple but impressive ceremony, which saw EC$1 000 winner of Digicel’s Christmas Cash Mas Promotion, Patricia Simpson of Godwin Ghaut joining with the company’s Country Manager Sean Latty, Marketing Manager Marsha Lindo-Chatterjee and Marketing Executive Jeanille Osborne in cutting the ribbon.

Pastor Benjamin Browne of the Cayon Church of God blessed the building.

Sampson explained that it was just on Monday (Dec. 3) while listening to Freedom FM she heard Digicel-sponsored radio personality Juni ‘Big JL’ Liburd notifying a woman that she was a winner of the Christmas Cash Mas Promotion.

In Sampson’s opinion, the winner did not sound excited and she recalled saying, “Wha wrong wid she eh? She don’t know when Juni Liburd calling is   money you winning.”

Commenting on her success, Sampson said that she is a Christian and has thanked God for her continued blessings.

Informing the media about an exciting feature that Digicel has to offer, Lindo-Chatterjee said the company has “live Smartphones and Tablets in the top level of the store” which customers care allowed to activate and make their choice of purchase.

Latty declared that the company would be providing 4G by February or March next year and, in his explanation of its features, said that it would turn one’s Smartphone into a mini-laptop and that the service will be “super speed”.

He also declared that the company would ensure island-wide 4G network with at least 99.9 percent coverage.

As disclosed by him, the company would consult friendly users to test the 4G before it officially comes on streams, and such users would include media workers.

Customer Experience Manager Kenneth Bob told the media that the Port Zante Branch no longer exists and that the newly-opened store was not just to enhance the look and feel of the company, but also to improve customer experience.

Bob said customers are now able to make purchases and do activation in one place, which would result in “happy smiling customers”.

Davy Charles, another EC$1 000 winner from the previous, was present to also collect his cheque.
