~~Adz:Right~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – BUILDING on the previous success of the Kittitian Expo, this year’s event, slated for November 7 and 8, is expected to be the ideal forum for creating new markets and exposing existing businesses to many viable opportunities.
The event, organised by Vh Communications and Marketing Agency in collaboration with the St. Kitts Marriott Resort and Royal Beach Casino, will exhibit over 30 companies from across the Caribbean region in as many as 50 booths set up in the Royal St. Kitts Marriott Ballroom.
Val Henry, CEO of Vh Communications and Marketing Agency, in an exclusive interview, explained that many businesses in St. Kitts-Nevis, both those in long standing and those recently established, have the same problem. He noted that the problem is finding a new client base, and indicated that the Expo was therefore specifically designed to address this issue.
“There are many opportunities from which companies here [in St. Kitts-Nevis] can get great exposure. In fact, the Expo provides the opportunity to launch new companies, promote new services and products to the market, capitalise on companies’ public relations and have a competitive edge over rivals in marketing.
“It is also one of the most ideal ways to reach the market since the customers come to you [the companies] rather than you trying to reach them. The Expo is certainly a way to strengthen the businesses and services that already exist in St. Kitts-Nevis.”
In an overview of last year’s Expo, Henry mentioned that the quality was second to none and added that many businesses, having attended the Expo, experienced a larger, stronger customer base which has “generated far more tangible results”.
Henry further informed that due to the potential the Expo may have, there has been an extension of trading time by 12 hours; it has been changed from 5:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. to 10 a.m.-10 p.m., which is viewed as a “significant difference”.
“We are also doing a training programme for the exhibitors to orient them in the preparations for and the aftermath of the exhibition. We are working with the media to give the exhibitors the type of exposure that is necessary to promote their product or service by allowing personal interviews with the 30-plus expected companies.”
Henry stressed that the “primary concern is to make sure that companies walk away feeling some sense of accomplishment, some sort of merit from all their hard work and receive a great deal of dividends from their investment”.
He urged the general public to support the effort as there will be many new products and services to be seen.
