New Taiwan President promises to visit
St. Kitts, invites PM Douglas to Taipei

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, SEPTEMBER 30TH 2008 (CUOPM) – Newly-elected President of the Republic of China on Taiwan, His Excellency Ma Ying-jeou, has invited St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas to visit the Asian nation.
“I would like to extend an invitation to your Excellency to once again lead a delegation to Taiwan, where you may acquire an understanding of my country’s most recent developments. Your visit will allow us to show our hospitality and to seek your Excellency’s in sights on issues of mutual concern,” said President Ma, who was elected Taiwan’s new Head of Government earlier this year.
“In the future, I hope to work closely with your Excellency in promoting bilateral relations and cooperation based on the spirit of mutual trust and reciprocity,” said President Ma, who added that he wish to visit St. Kitts and Nevis in the future to exchange views on current global events and issues of bilateral relations.
President Ma recalled that the Republic of China (Taiwan) was the first country to recognize and establish diplomatic relations with St. Kitts and Nevis after it declared independence 25 years ago.
“Ever since these historic events, our two countries have remain true friends, supporting each other in the international arena as needed. The brotherly ties between our two countries have grown significantly over the years,” said the Taiwanese leader. ~~Adz:Right~~
