    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS,
    MAY 5TH 2005  The Cayon Multipurpose Complex is nearing completion.
    Parliamentary Representative and Minister of Agriculture, Housing, Fisheries and Commerce, the Hon. Cedric Liburd said the new structure is in keeping with the policy of the ruling St. KittsNevis Labour Party Government to provide facilities which will allow for the upgrade and expansion of already existing services in the communities.
     
    He said the facilities will also allow the provision of some services which were previously unavailable to the residents of Cayon and the environs.
     
    The building to be used as a Community Centre will also be a hurricane shelter if the need exists.
     
    It will also accommodate the new Post Office, Medical Room/Doctors Office, Dining Room, Library, Computer lab, multi-purpose room and kitchen.
     
    The building is being constructed by Roland Stanley & Sons and will comprise space of 58,000 square feet.
     
    Construction is being financed by the Republic of China on Taiwan at a cost of EC$1.2 million.
     
    The Republic of China on Taiwan has also financed the construction of the Old Road and New Town Community Centers, the Challengers Community Center which is under construction and renovation of the existing facility in Conaree which is soon to be completed.
