Condor: Ashley Allers making mischief; Branch Executive always been informed

Ashley Allers
By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FOLLOWING a movement by members of Constituency Number Three calling for the removal of the Hon. Sam Condor as their Parliamentary Representative, Condor has lashed back citing that the proposed ring leader is merely “causing mischief” and in due course would be dealt with.

St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party supporters of Constituency Number Three held a meeting last evening at the St. Johnston Community Centre as part of a movement and have even launched a petition against Condor, which reportedly has 350-plus signatures affixed to it.

Allers, who appears to be either leader of or spokesperson for the movement, explained to SKNVibes that the thrust of the movement hinges on Condor’s failure to communicate to his constituents his grievances with Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Denzil Douglas.

Speaking exclusively with SKNVibes, Condor explained that the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party’s St. Christopher Three Constituency Branch Executive - which he leads - is not only in the know but, contrary to Allers’ suggestion, is aware of all that transpired.

Condor added that he still has the support of the majority of his constituents.

“I understand there was a meeting last night. That wasn’t anything sanctioned by the Constituency Executive. In fact, we meet once every month so my constituency is aware of all that is happening and so I didn’t have to go to that meeting. We have a meeting every month and we explain what the situation is. So they are aware of what happened and I have the support of the vast majority of my constituents.”

Condor – who is also the Deputy Prime Minister – informed that not only is Allers not a member of the Executive, but “he is just making mischief” and advised that “when I am ready, he will be dealt with”.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs said the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party – which is still the strongest and oldest party in the Federation – is at a peculiar juncture in its existence which could be resolved if all parties concerned work together.

“This is just a situation that we have to resolve…it will take everybody together to resolve it.”

Asked specifically if he is willing to work with PM Douglas in effort to mend whatever fences would have been broken, Condor responded in the affirmative, noting that “we have to work with everybody”.
