BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – JUST hours after the shooting death of a young woman in Whyte’s Mountain in Cayon, an Indian national was tonight (Dec. 14) gunned down in Taylors Range.

Information reaching this publication states that the Indian national, who was employed at Big Sale on Fort Street, was shot sometime between 8:15 and 8:45 p.m. as he was about to enter his home, which is situated two houses away from the Girl Guides building in Taylors Range.

According to residents in the area, they were made aware of the incident after hearing the sound of two gunshots and loud screams by the wife of the deceased.

Additional information states that shortly before his demise, the deceased had exited a taxi and was about to enter his yard, along with his wife and child, when an individual(s) approached and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash.

However, during the robbery, the man was shot and he fell at the entrance of his residence, while the perpetrator(s) escaped running west along the street that houses Beach Allen Primary School.

Shortly after, a unit from the Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene but left without the man, which suggested that he was dead.

    Police are investigating.

The death of the Indian national has taken to 17 the amount of murders committed in St. Kitts and Nevis for the year.
