BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AS it begins to look a lot like Christmas, one of the ways children are involved in this favoured holiday is by participating in annual Christmas Concerts hosted by their schools.
This year, the George Moody Stuart School, popularly known as Factory School, is in full gear to present a wonderful magical treat for their audience.
The school will host a Christmas Musical for young voices entitled ‘Candy Cane Lane-A Recipe for Life’ at the Zion Moravian Church on Tuesday (Dec. 18) at 5:00 p.m.
The event promises to be an experience with a difference, and following the programme will be a take-away-dinner.
According to a spokesperson from the school, the musical teaches the truth that only God could satisfy our hungry hearts.
“Candy Cane Jane leads the characters through the soul food forest to Miss Ginger’s Ginger Bread House to learn the recipe for life and they even go for a ride on Casey’s train to learn how to grow,” said the spokesperson.
She indicated that other highlights of the concert would include performances from Kindergarten to Grade six pupils.
“This cheerful musical for children contains an important message and we want to invite everyone to come on out and support our school.”
Since the beginning of the school term in September, the school has been accomplishing great feats through their students, including Alezea Burroughs success at the National Courts Reading Competition from which she went on to place third in the Regional Finals in Dominica.
Also, Daria James, like Burroughs, a grade six student of the school, emerged winner of the 2012 Rotary Club of Liamuiga Spelling Bee Competition, beating 16 other competitors in the process.
