BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO popular Jamaican dancehall artistes, Mr. Vegas and G Whizz, and Antigua’s reigning Soca Monarch Tian Winter will be featured as the major overseas acts at the third annual Inception Fete.

This announcement was made yesterday (Dec. 17) by Team Inception’s Production Engineer Azim Bailey at a Press Launch held at Vibes Beach Bar (formerlyZiggy’s) on the Frigate Bay Strip.

This much-anticipated party is being promoted under the theme: ‘10 Fete in 1? And I Must Stay Home?!?’ and will be held at the historic Fort Thomas Hotel Grounds in Fortlands, Basseterre on December 29 from 12: a.m. to 12 noon.

The press launch was carried live on Freedom FM (106.5) and calls-in were made by Tian Winter and Mr. Vegas, who both whetted the public’s appetite.

Entertainment will also be provided by the following DJs: Evolution Sound HD, Mad Squad, Sugar Bowl, Sweet Sister Sensia, Midnight Squad (from Barbados), Unstoppable Chalice and Wett Dutt.

Additionally, other local acts will see Dagah, Kollision Band, Small Axe Band, Grand Masters Band and the Nu Vybes International Band.

Representatives for some of the other performers were present at the event and gave brief remarks.

Originally, G Whizz is the headline guest performer at the 33rd annual Digicel Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Talented Teen Pageant to be held in St. Kitts on Saturday (Dec. 29).  However, a partnership with the Haynes Smith Youth Club resulted in Inception Fete being the official after party for the show.

Chairperson of Team Inception, Anthony Johnson explained that in order to avoid conflict with the timing of the two events, "we decided to start at 12 midnight. Usually, we start at 10:00 p.m. but you will not be denied the same 12 hours of non-stop entertainment and free drinks, because it will start at 12 midnight and will go down to 12 mid-day.”

In an appeal to business entities, institutions, groups and individuals, Johnson said that it is not too late for them to get onboard as sponsors.

“It's not too late to come onboard, because this event is not just about bringing a certain amount of joy for the people of St. Kitts and Nevis (during) Carnival) but, indeed, in aid of certain charities.”

Deputy Chairperson Marsha Henderson said Team Inception “believes strongly in our corporate responsibility; so with this respect, this year, we would make a significant contribution from this event to a charitable cause. This year, we have chosen two charities”.

She declared that in support of the nation’s youth, they have adopted two charities.

“We are committed to supporting and contributing to the holistic development and growth of the Federation's youth and that is why we have adopted Operation Future and the new charity, which is the St. Christopher Outreach Centre,” Henderson remarked.

Henderson also spoke about Sober Zone that would again be featured at the fete.

“We believe that when you get a little tight you can go to Sober Zone and freshen up yourself, cool down. We have water there, energy drink.”

Partygoers are reminded that the signature drink, Inceptini, will also be present at the fete and they are asked to walk with their Inception mug so that they could get their usual free drink.

“No cup…no drink” Henderson jokingly warned.

Team Inception’s Public Relations Officer Emerlin Sebastian said this year's line-up could only be described as "epic, extravagant".

“We make it your business, our business to bring to St. Kitts and Nevis the biggest and sweetest fete for Sugar Mas and this year would be no exception”, Sebastian said.

Tickets for Inception Coach (grounds) and Inception Flex (VIP section) are being sold at EC$120 and EC$250 respectively.

On the day of the fete, ground tickets would be sold at EC150.

    There are also ticket packages.

Other sponsors and partners of the event are Royal Logistics, TDC, iRepSKN, Vibes Beach Bar, Carib Brewery, Ashburry’s, OD Brisbane, Rock and Dirt, Freedom FM, C&C Supermarket, Madd Squad Promotion, Evolution Sounds and Party Central.

Early bird tickets can be bought at iRep SKN Store and Party Central and will be available from Thursday (Dec. 20).
