St. Maarten – The body of a St. Kitts native was discovered on the French side of St. Maarten on Wednesday morning (Oct. 1) at about 7:00 and according to police reports, the body had a single gunshot wound to the head and “parts of his ears missing”.

The deceased was later identified as 32-year-old Warren Marsham.Although Marsham’s body was found in the vicinity of the power plant in Concordia on the French half of the island, police have reason to believe he was murdered on the Dutch side.

Marsham was at the time employed as an engineer at the power plant at Sonesta Maho Beach Resort and Casino.

Police from both sides will be probing the shooting which they believe is related to another shooting incident that occurred Tuesday night (Sept. 30) that involved Marsham’s cousin, Nerisa Marsham.

Police have launched a manhunt for another St. Kitts native with the initials D.W. who they say threatened N. Marsham and her family members. Police say the male is suspected of firing shots at her and also of killing her cousin the same evening.

Reports in the Daily Herald indicate that a relative of Marsham’s told police that Nerisa had been involved with D.W and after she ended the abusive relationship, he had terrorized her and other family members. The relative said D.W. had stalked Nerisa and fired shots at her before Tuesday night’s incident.    ~~Adz:Right~~

Police reports state that Marsham had driven to the Well Road area in Cole Bay, on the Dutch side sometime after 7 p.m. Tuesday and had left his wife and two children in the car while he went in search of a man to pay a bill. After about an hour when gunshots were heard in the area and she saw two men running down the road, the wife reportedly began to panic.

Dutch-side police confirmed that a detective patrol had been dispatched to Maracas Drive, Cay Bay, around 8:00 pm in connection with reports of shots being fired. Marsham’s body was not found until the following morning.

French-side Prosecutor Louvier has stated that “an autopsy will be done on the body today (Thursday) and the file handed over to the Dutch-side prosecutor”.
