BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A St. Peters man is being counted as fortunate having escaped a traffic accident that occurred last evening (Dec. 26) without scratch or injury.
The Traffic Department informed that the incident involving Goldwin Caines of Lower Monkey Hill occurred at about 9:40 p.m. along the Island Main Road in the vicinity of CONTEC.
SGT Calvin Amory of that Department informed SKNVibes that Caines was travelling in his vehicle P186 from Basseterre’s direction to that of Cayon when the incident occurred.
He further indicated that in accordance with information he received, a vehicle which was travelling in the opposite direction approached Caines’ on his side of the road. And in an effort to avoid a collision, Caines veered to his left causing the vehicle to run through some dirt before overturning on the mountain side of the road.
Caines reportedly suffered no injury as a result of the incident but his vehicle sustained some damage.
Police officers visited the scene of the incident and conducted preliminary investigations. These – SKNVibes has been advised – are continuing.
