    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, MAY 6TH 2005
     The Atlantic Provinces Ophthalmological Society (APOS) holds its annual meeting in St. Kitts next week.
    The meeting from May 7th to 14th at the Sugar Bay Club, Frigate Bay, brings together members of the Atlantic Provinces Ophthalmological Society (APOS), whose membership is drawn from the provinces of Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and New Foundland. APOS is a branch of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society (COS).
     
    St. Kitts-born Canadian Ophthalmologist and former APOS Secretary, Treasurer and former President, Dr. Vincent Audain said the group of 40 eye doctors and their wives will be welcomed during a Reception on Sunday night by Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism, the Hon. Richard Skerritt.
     
    Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Denzil L. Douglas and Minister of Health, the Hon. Rupert Herbert will address the gathering during the official opening session on Monday morning.
     
    According to Dr. Audain, there will be two Continuing Medical Education symposia. The first on the 9th will consist of topics of a general nature, whereas the second on the 10th will have topics that will be slanted towards ophthalmologists.
     
    Our Society has dedicated this symposium to the local physicians in St. Kitts and Nevis, said Dr. Audain, who is also the Federations Honorary Consul in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
