BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Anglican Church on Cayon Street, Basseterre was today (Dec. 30) robbed of a large amount of money and a person of interest, Akeem Walters of New Road, was arrested and three others taken into custody assisting police with their investigation.
Information reaching SKNVibes indicates that shortly after noon today, an armed man had robbed the church of some EC$13 000.
A press release from the Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Lyndon David, had stated that the 22-year-old Walters is “a person of interest in a Federation investigation” and that he is considered armed and dangerous.
“Persons having information regarding the whereabouts of Akeem Walters are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 to report his whereabouts. Remember, when you call Crime Stoppers, you do not have to give your name or number and you may be eligible for a reward,” the release read.
However, members of the Police Force were quick to react and Walters was taken into custody at the Basseterre Police Station.
This media house learnt that three other men were also in custody assisting police with their investigations.
