BASSETERRE St. Kitts, January 7th 2013 - After recently opening its second outlet on the island the Chicken Wing Fast Food Restaurant BOBSY'S SUPER WINGS 'N TINGS is set to become the first locally owned franchise.
Bobsy's Super Wings 'N Tings derived from a strategic idea by its founder Michael 'Bobsy' Hawley, to downsize his restaurant of 12 years (Bobsy’s Bar & Grill) into a quick service food chain. ‘Super Wings’, nicknamed by customers, first outlet opened in February 2012, at Frigate Bay, out of a converted 160 square foot shipping container for takeout and delivery.
Super Wings became an immediate hit for chicken lovers as it served chicken wings with six different unique island flavours each prepared from Bobsy's special recipes and technique. Each flavour has an enticing fun name like, 'Tangy Tamarind,' 'Nevis Poly Mango,' 'Brimstone (scorching),' 'Ginger Jerk,' 'Passion Fruit BBQ,' 'Crisp and Spicy' and are served fresh to the customers taste right out of the fryer.
On Christmas Eve Bobsy expanded his operations with a second Super Wings outlet on Port Zante opposite RAMS Supermarket. Due to popular demand from its customers four new wing flavours were added to include 'Bobsy's Rum-ble (not for kids),' 'Guava BBQ,' 'Sugar Cane and Lime (sweet and sour),' and 'Super Wing Garlic'. Early in the New Year Super Wings will also add delivery service from Port Zante to the central Basseterre area on weekdays during the lunch period.
Wings make up 75% of the menu of Bobsy's Super Wings ‘N Tings which also serves fried fish, slow baked ribs, regular and seasoned fries, sweet potato fries, salads, plantain and corn on the cob.
After observing the success of the concept many persons, both from within the Federation and the region, have inquired about being involved in such an establishment. Thus Bobsy has decided that the best way to grow Bobsys Super Wings 'N Tings is through franchising.
The informal simple concept of using a converted shipping container or similar structure of compact size would mean an inexpensive operation, low start up costs, as well as low occupancy and utilities, thereby allowing value for money and a worthwhile franchise.
