The first in the series of activities launched by the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant Dance Ensemble comes tomorrow, Friday.
It is a Liturgical Dance Workshop, the theme for which is Lets Praise His Name With Dancing .
The objectives include the enhancing of the creativity, expressiveness and technical capabilities of those engaged in liturgical dance and the promotion of the importance of dance in worship.
Keen interest has been shown in this workshop which takes place this Friday and Saturday at the Community Center on Victoria Road. Among the sessions to be taught are dance skill enrichment, improving ones choreographic talent and proper use of garment, props, and space.
The facilitators are Charrise Dolphin-Gumbs, Julie Martin, Heidi Slack and Sharon Rattan. Upon completion of this two day workshop, participants would have increased their knowledge of basic dance terminology, heightened their awareness of their artistic capabilities and be able to more properly execute a liturgical piece. Certificates of participation will also be distributed.
