BRADES, Montserrat, January 16th, 2013 – “Overwhelming” is how Teresena Fergus, Head of the Social Services Department described the recent donation of school supplies from the Butler Family.
This is the second time the family is donating to the Ministry of Health & Social Services as a tribute to their mother Mrs. Clara Ann Butler, the first social worker on Montserrat, who passed away in 2008.
Owen Butler made the donation which included significant amounts of the following items: School bags, pens, pencils, packs of loose folder paper, exercise books, glue, erasers, washable markers, crayons, coloured pencils, pencil cases, and hand sanitizers.
Fergus said all of the schools on island, including the community college, nursery schools and day care centres will be able to receive some of the donated items.
The Butler family and Ministry of Health & Social Services would like to thank Tshimbi Cassell for covering the freight charges from Florida to Montserrat.
