~~Adz:Left~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – RESULTING haemorrhage and shock due to gunshot injuries to the left hip has been cited as the cause of the death of 22-year-old Darren Gibson, the Federation’s 17th murder victim for year.

This information was released by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s Press and Public Relations Office via a press release, which informed that the autopsy was performed on Monday, October 6, 2008 by forensic pathologist Dr. Stephen Jones.

Gibson lost his life on the night of Saturday, September 27, 2008 while he was sitting outside Mansion Village’s Domino Club.

According to reports, while the young man was sitting there, an armed assailant “from some nearby” opened fire on him. Gibson was taken to the Mary Charles Hospital in Molyneaux by a private vehicle and from there transported to the Joseph N. France (JNF) General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The initial report from police was that three individuals were arrested “on suspicion of murder” but contact with Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Liburd revealed that no charges were laid and the individuals have since been released.

ACP Liburd told SKNVibes that the police are still seeking and would appreciate assistance from the general public relative to information concerning Gibson’s murder.

He reminded that persons with information could contact the Tabernacle Police Station at 465-7227 or the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 465-2241 extensions 230 or 236. All information, he assured, would be treated with the strictest confidence.

The public is reminded that persons with information relative to the other murders which have taken place in 2008 will also be accepted by the police and will be treated with the strictest confidence.
