BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – SERGEANT Calvin Amory of the Traffic Department has informed this publication that three drivers who were recently involved in two separate accidents would soon be prosecuted.

Amory said that one of the drivers, Glenroy Pringle of Molineux, was involved in a traffic accident last night (Jan. 20) on the Frigate Bay Road, and the accident involving the other two, Sonya Tingle of Greenlands and Royston Rogers of Sandy Point, occurred this morning (Jan. 21) on the Island’s Main Road.

Investigations revealed that the accident in Frigate Bay occurred in the vicinity of Bulls Eye Car Rental, where motor bus GT 52, owned by Leroy Richards of Conaree Village and was driven by Anthony Francis of Keys Village, was travelling from Basseterre towards Frigate Bay, while motorcar PA 4109 driven by Pringle was also travelling in the same direction, but behind the bus.

According to Amory, Pringle was driving at a fast rate and lost control of the vehicle while attempting to pass the bus. This resulted in his vehicle colliding with the rear of the bus.

The right side of the bus was badly damaged, while the car was extensively damaged.

Pringle had complained about a pain to the left side of his head and was taken to the JNF Hospital. He has since been discharged.

The accident occurred at about 11:00 p.m.

Amory said that Pringle was served a notice of intended prosecution.

The other accident involving Tingle and Rogers occurred at about 7:57 this morning.

Amory informed that Tingle was driving motor jeep PA 6876 travelling from the Basseterre area towards Sandy Point, while motorcar PA 7135 driven by Rogers was traveling from the Sandy Point direction and was taking a right turn to the abattoir road when the vehicles collided.

This incident, he said, occurred on the Island Main Road in the vicinity of Caribbean Cinemas.

Damage was done to the front bonnet and bumper, left headlight and indicator of Rogers’ vehicle, while the front left side of Tingle’s vehicle was also damaged.

Notices of intended prosecution were also served to both drivers.
