Sutcliffe Hodge is the newly appointed EVP Windwards for Cable & Wireless Caribbean. In addition, he will assume the role of Country Manager for Grenada.

Mr. Hodge succeeds Ian Blanchard who has become the EVP Transformation.

Hodge joined the Cable & Wireless family in the Caribbean in 1993 as the Sales & Marketing Manager in Anguilla. He later took up responsibility for customer service as well.

In 1998 he became the General Manager of the Anguilla Business and has seen that unit through the deregulation era and the arrival of new competition in the market. He leaves Anguilla as Chief Executive for his new base in St. Georges.

“I believe that there is great potential to do business within the region, but we as Caribbean people must step up to the challenge and demonstrate that we can be world class,” says the new EVP Windwards.

As Cable & Wireless undergoes a major transformation of the enterprise Hodge says that there are many openings for Caribbean nationals; however, there is a need for them to step up and embrace these new opportunities.

Hodge looks forward to a solid working relationship with his C&W colleagues in the Windwards as they undertake the transformation programme with the emphasis on creating an unrivalled customer experience.

His main priorities are to meet current customers and to make an appeal to prospective customers to give Cable & Wireless an opportunity to serve them well.

Hodge received part of his training in the United States and also worked in the information technology field there.

His employment record in the US included stints in California for Atlantic Richfield Oil Company and P&O Princess Cruises (The Love Boat).

In 1984 he moved to Tampa Florida where he held a position in IT at Critikon, a Johnson & Johnson company. Hodge later worked for South East Toyota and Southeast Bank as a computer consultant.  His last job in the United States before returning to Anguilla was with Coulter Electronics as a Computer Systems Developer managing a team of consultants and computer programmers and analysts.

Upon his return to Anguilla in 1990, he taught business courses at the University of St. Maarten and the Challenge Programme for University of the West Indies.

Sutcliffe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and an MBA with concentrations in Marketing and International Business.

He and his wife Millie have two adult children, Devin and Angele.
