BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – REPORTS state that popular music icon and historian Ras Tamboura Kitwana died today (Jan. 26).
His daughter, Tamaju Kitwana-Bass, posted a bereaved comment on FaceBook around noon today, in which she stated that it is “such a sad day” and that she was sorry to not have had the opportunity to say goodbye to him.
She also stated on the popular social network that “I will always love you”.
Ras Tamboura was an employee of the Department of Culture and a former member of Ellie Matt and the GI’s Brass International.
Many people in the twin-island Federation are certainly going to miss the familiar voice of Ras Tamboura on ZIZ Radio’s daily programme ‘Under the Banyan Tree’, which provided historical facts about St. Kitts and Nevis.
