One individual assisting police with investigations
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - ARMED ranks of the Special Services Unit (SSU), who last night (Jan. 27) guarded the house within which the lifeless body of Lindsay Williams was discovered, were relieved of their duty early this morning as Crime Scene Technicians returned to continue their investigation.
Reports stated that Williams was discovered dead in one of the bedrooms of his Parray’s Village residence sometime after 3:00 p.m. yesterday.
Police have so far deemed the Jaro Electronics employee’s death as “suspicious”.
In a press release issued last evening, police indicated that about 5:25 p.m. “officers of the Stapleton Police Station responded to a report of a fatal stabbing incident at Parray Village”, and that “investigators are on scene and are investigating a suspicious death”.
On arrival at the scene yesterday, SKNVibes learnt that officers from the Stapleton Police Station, members of the Crime Scene Unit and the Defence Force had responded to the incident.
Also present at the crime scene was Commissioner of Police Celvin ‘CG’ Walwyn.
Some residents claimed that they had learnt of the incident at about 3:00 p.m. after seeing a unit of the Emergency Medical Services at Williams’ home, which is located in the vicinity of the Deane Glasford Primary School’s compound in Parray’s Village on the road that leads to Upper Monkey Hill.
Late yesterday afternoon, Williams was pronounced dead by District Medical Officer Dr. Mervyn Laws and at 6:30 p.m. undertakers from Jenkins Funeral took the body away under police escort.
About one hour after the removal of the body, a squad of SSU members arrived at Williams’ home and protected the crime scene from contamination.
They were relieved of their duty shortly after 8:00 this morning.
When contacted this afternoon, Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Lyndon David stated that an individual is currently in custody assisting police with their investigation into the matter.
