BASSETERRE St. Kitts, January 31st 2013 - The St. Christopher Children’s Home received a donation from the Anguilla, Nevis, St. Kitts Associations Reunion (ANSAR) steering committee 2012, at the weekend. The organisation through its biannual gatherings raises funds for charitable giving to worthy causes in the islands of Anguilla, Nevis and St. Kitts.
ANSAR is a non-political and non-partisan organisation whose “purpose is to provide opportunity for Nationals of Anguilla, Nevis and St. Kitts to renew acquaintances, to worship together, to edify each other and to enjoy our own traditions.” The recent re-union was held in Toronto, Canada and saw over five hundred (500) participants.
The presentation was made to the Administrator and members of the Board of Directors, by Mr Calvin Beach (Chairperson), and representatives of the 2012 Steering Committee. He presented the administrator with a cheque for CAD $1491.90. On behalf of the Board Ms Orita Bailey thanked Mr Beach and the ANSAR Steering Committee for their consideration of the Children’s Home. She said that the Board welcomed efforts of individuals and groups support, in both financial and other ways, such as volunteering, and invited them to attend the AGM which is to be held on March 5th at the Ocean Terrace Inn at 6.00 pm.
Interested persons wishing to volunteer their assistance should contact the Administrator on 465 4007.
