Charles Emanuel gives splendid show for Soft Album release

By: Precious Mills, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – STYLISHLY dressed in a bright red pants and a light blue denim shirt with black shoes and matching colour belt and tie, Charles Emanuel hit the stage last night (31. Jan) and released his ‘Invincible’ mixtape.

The soft album release was held before a relatively large audience during Island Xpressions’ monthly event at Ma Pau on Port Zante in St. Kitts.

Backed by the Limitless LP Band, his high-energy performance, which clocked a little over one hour, saw Emanuel dishing out the six songs on his mixtape.

After a minor technical hiccup with the microphone, everything smoothed out and Charlie, as he is fondly called, was well on his way to give what turned out to be an amazing night of good music and entertainment.

“I’m ready to get your feedback…good or bad and just grow from there”, was what Charlie said to patrons while getting into his act.

His songs on the mixtape for the occasion flowed as follows: ‘Invincible’, ‘Without You’ which featured Dagah, “Pardise’, ‘Better Days’, ‘One Night Whine’ and ‘Start Anew’.

Wait, did the quiet nature Charles Emanuel do a little gyration last night? Oh yes, he did!  But that was only during the uptempo rhythm of some of his songs when he got lost in the music.

He announced that the album would be released via Internet on Wednesday, February 27, and shared that he is currently working on music videos for ‘Invincible’ and ‘One Night Whine’.

Charlie reminded his audience that they could have regularly and updated information on his FaceBook page.

Also included in his performance was a rendition with national Hip Hop artiste Dagah for a song called ‘Will Rise Again’. He was featured on this track for Dagah’s 2012 album, ‘The Patriot’.

He also treated his audience to one of the greatest hits of the late Bob Marley…‘Turn Your Lights Down Low’.

The curtains came down on the event with Charlie and Makeila ‘MiMi’ Armstrong singing a song called ‘Speechless, which was composed by the two uprising national artistes.

Following his performance, Charlie told SKNVibes how pleased he was with the outcome of the event.

“It was amazing! Everything was great. The band was excellent and the response from the audience was good.”

Asked if the added colour to his hair is a new fashion statement, he laughingly he replied, “Yes, I wanted to do something new and something that would sort of stand out. Many more things are in store, so don’t get too familiar with it.”

Ken Crossly and Michael Glasford each won gift certificates for six cupcakes from Flavours By Delano.

Following his mixtape release, Charlie was flanked by fans, supporters and music lovers who all commended him for a splendid show. They also took photographs with him as mementos.
