PAM Leaders Meet with Diplomats

By: Public Relations Office of PAM Secretariat, Press Release

Basseterre, St.Kitts February 1st 2013  (People’s Action Movement Press Secretariat):-The importance of maintaining strong diplomatic and trading relations with friendly governments that are represented here in the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, has been underscored by the Political Leader of the People’s Action Movement PAM, Mr. Shawn Richards.

Richards, who is also the Parliamentary Representative for the people of Sandy Point, has just concluded a series of meetings with representatives of the governments of Taiwan, Brazil and Cuba. Future discussions are also being planned with other diplomats.

The PAM leader has described the meetings as very fruitful, as they were able to examine matters of mutual interest. Mr. Richards explained that he and his delegation were also afforded the opportunity to exchange views with the diplomats about various international developments.

Mr. Richards said that as a government in waiting, the People’s Action Movement is seeking to ensure that the strong ties that have been developed, especially between St. Kitts and Nevis and the governments and peoples of Taiwan, Brazil, Venezuela and Cuba, continue to evolve and mature into more dynamic relationships.

In addition, the series of diplomatic visits, which began on Friday 25th and ended on Monday 28th January, 2013, helped to engender a sense of confidence that future relations under a PAM administration would be promising and meaningful to all nations.
