Montpelier Plantation Unharmed By Hurricane Omar

** Owner Reports No Structural Damage,  Anticipates Strong Winter 08/09 Season **

~~Adz:Right~~ Charlestown,Nevis-Following the passage of Hurricane Omar to the Northwest of Nevis in the pre-dawn hours yesterday, the owners of Montpelier Plantation, a Relais & Chateaux property, report that the hotel has weathered the storm.

The owners of Montpelier, reported no damage to the hotel.  While there were some branches and palm fronds down, as would be expected in any storm, prompt clean-up efforts have ensured that Montpelier’s distinctive appearance has already returned to its usual well-manicured state.  “We were very fortunate, due to Montpelier’s hillside location on the southern side of the island, to get through the storm practically unscathed,” said Timothy Hoffman.  “We remain open for business and continue to welcome guests.  We are looking forward to a successful 2008-2009 season.”

Just a day after the storm and Montpelier has returned to business as usual, providing guests with discerning service, a luxuriant setting and warm hospitality under the beautifully sunny Caribbean skies.

Known for its tranquil grace, refined charm and personal service, Montpelier Plantation is a secluded retreat.  As a member of Relais & Chateaux, this intimate 18-room hideaway is owned and managed by the Hoffman family, who has created a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere.  Nestled amongst thirty acres of landscaped gardens, Montpelier features an exquisite hand-laid 60-foot mosaic-tiled pool and tennis court.

The hotel has recently completed the new Villa Suite which is in keeping with modern simplicity of the renovated rooms.  Montpelier by the Sea, the hotel’s private two-acre beach, is a stunning retreat with private sun gazebos and a cheerful barman.  In the evening, guests can choose between Montpelier’s two gourmet restaurants: The AAA Four Diamond Terrace restaurant and The Mill, set in the plantation’s original 18th century sugar mill.

Easily accessible from major U.S. gateways with connecting service to Nevis, Montpelier Plantation’s 2008 room rates inclusive of breakfast and afternoon tea start at $290 per room, per night.  For more information please call 869-469-3462, e-mail info@montpeliernevis.com or visit www.montpeliernevis.com.
