ROADTOWN Tortola BVI, February 12th, 2013  -- This morning I am thankful that God has given me and you another opportunity at life, health and strength.  Good morning everyone.

I say a special good morning to the:

•Acting Principal Wade Tobin, staff members and students of the Elmore Stoutt High School

•Principal Carol O’Neal Alexander, staff members and students of the Bregado Flax Educational Centre

•Principal Urma Creque, staff and students of the Claudia Creque Educational Centre

•Principals, staff and students of our private schools,  CEDAR International, the Seventh Day Adventist and St. Georges Secondary Schools

•This morning’s guest speakers Mr. Colin O’Neal and past Elmore Stoutt High student, Mr. Khalil Pickering

•I also want to send salutations to the many business leaders and their organisations that have so willingly participated in this opportunity to help our young people explore career options.

I want to firstly congratulate the administration and staff of the Elmore Stoutt High School for their efforts each year to host this career expo.  As planning commenced for this event, I was very pleased to learn that the school saw the importance of sharing their efforts with all of our secondary schools, both public and private.

In these times, we all need to pool resources together to expose our young people to available opportunities and help light a path to success for them.

As I will continue to say, we all should have a vested interest in seeing each student in the Virgin Islands succeed.  When they succeed so do we; as schools, as a community and as one Virgin Islands.
