Basseterre, St. Kitts – In commemoration of its 10th Anniversary celebrations, The Rotary Club of Liamuiga (RCL) worshipped at the Wesley Methodist Church, Seaton Street on Sunday February 10, 2013.
The community-spirited group is celebrating its 10th Anniversary with activities that highlight the Club’s commitment to community uplift and empowerment. The commemorative activities are being hosted under the motif “A Decade of Service to Our Community.”
President Lester Hanley in giving brief remarks to the congregation noted that foremost in Rotarians’ minds is always the question of “what would it take to change the world?”
“To Rotarians, the answer is simple. The change that we seek should always start with Rotary’s 1.2 million members worldwide being committed to service above self,” said President Hanley. “We have certainly achieved quite a bit in our first ten years and we look forward to building on our achievements with your help and support as a community.”
RCL members participated in the morning’s service by reading scripture lessons and the Club presented a monetary gift to assist the wonderful work of the Boys and Girls Brigades.
RCL continues its 10th Anniversary celebrations with an inter-club cricket competition with the Rotary Club of St. Kitts on February 23, 2013.
