BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - TWO brothers, yesterday afternoon (Feb. 15), escaped being hurt after the car in which they were travelling ran off the road and into a drain by the Kim Collins Highway and the round-a-bout within the vicinity of the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport.
Sergeant Calvin Amory of the Traffic Department informed SKNVibes that the accident took place at about 1:40 p.m.
He said the accident had involved PA 4494 owned by Kervin Burt but was driven by his brother Kezroy Burt of Pedro Street, Sandy Point.
Amory explained that the circumstances are that the driver and his passenger were travelling along the Kim Collins Highway from the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank end, and while driving, as said by the driver, “The vehicle started pulling him towards the right, and while he was trying to pull over to the left the vehicle ran off the road and it ended up in a drain on the left hand side.”
Reportedly, the right front portion of the vehicle was damaged.
The vehicle was removed from the drain by Zumie’s Auto Services Towing.
Traffic flow was temporarily disrupted while the vehicle was being towed, but returned to its state of normalcy shortly thereafter.
The Traffic Department continues investigations into this accident.
