Antoine Adams defeats Kim Collins for third place in Birmingham

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - Young Kittitian star sprinter Antoine Adams has defeated his elder statesmam Kim Collins in a 60m race at the  British Athletics Grand Prix held in Birmingham England to finish third and fourth place respectively.

     

    The race was won by Mike Rodgers of the USA in a time of 6.53 seconds and he was followed by Nesta Carter of Jamaica who clocked a time of 6.56 seconds.

     

    A battle then ensued for third place between the two Kittitian sprinters with Adams just edging Collins on the line by on hundredth of a second to take the third place spot.

     

    Kittitian Jason Rogers also competed at the meet but failed to qualify for the finals of the 60m.

     

    Speaking after the race, Collins credited his poor start for a disappointing finish.
