BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, OCTOBER 22nd 2008 (CUOPM) – In his determination to “move quickly and effectively against the blight of crime” in St. Kitts and Nevis, Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas said a senior law enforcement executive from the United States is in the twin-island Federation.

“He is here this week to carry out preliminary research and meet with key individuals both in government and in our larger national community, to obtain an understanding of the present crime situation and to help our government formulate effective policies to address both crime and the root causes of crime,” Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas disclosed during the first “Ask the Prime Minister” programme on ZIZ radio on Tuesday morning.

Dr. Douglas, who is also the Minister of National Security promised to share more details about the unnamed individual and the project as it unfolds.

“I am determined to move quickly and effectively against the blight of crime on our islands, and I see this as an important step in that effort,” said the Prime Minister.
