BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ONE of the leading social media network pages, operated by the St. Kitts Music Festival Committee, is currently showing that the internationally-acclaimed Grammy Award winning pop star, Rihanna, is the top requested artiste for this year’s annual extravaganza.

On the heels of the climaxed St. Kitts-Nevis National Carnival 2012/2013, the dates for the St. Kitts Music Festival (June 27 to 29) were officially made public and people were encouraged to “save the date".

Since then, there has been much buzz and excitement in the air from music lovers and fans who have taken to the social media networks and the streets declaring who they would like to see perform at the 17th annual production of the three-night concert.

On Tuesday (Feb. 19), a post on the Committee's fan page indicated that they were “finalising an incredible line up for this year's St. Kitts Music Festival”.

Fans were told: “If you wish for your favourite artiste to be included SAY SO NOW!”

Many fans made good on complying with this entertainment request and, out of 47 written comments, nine demands were for Rihanna.

Additionally, in another posted dated February 10, among 44 comments the Committee  revealed to fans that: “Our eyes are glued to The Grammy Awards at the moment…Quick question, if you could bring any Grammy-nominated artist to the St. Kitts Music Festival- Who would it be?”.

Rihanna’s name was mentioned 18 times.

People are also asking to see a host of other artistes who have never been on the Festival line-up, including Tommy Lee, Lil Wayne, Beyonce, Jay Z, Adele, Alicia Keys and Trey Songz.

Past performers being mentioned include Jah Cure, Beres Hammon, Machel Montano, Maxi Priest and Chris Brown.

The Barbadian celebrated her 25th birthday on Wednesday (Feb. 20). She is the artiste behind popular tunes such as ‘Paradise’, ‘Only Girl’, ‘Diamonds’ and ‘Where Have You Been’.
