BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AFTER weeks of anticipation, the Sandy Point and surrounding communities have finally gotten a glimpse of the five vivacious beauties who will soon be hitting the stage in the third annual LIME Black San Swimsuit Pageant.
The revelation took place last evening (Feb. 24) at Pump Bay in Sandy Point; the birthplace of one of the most looked-forward-to community festivals in St. Kitts, Black San Bang-a-Lang.
It was disclosed that on March 31 at Sandy Bank Jomel Elliott, Patricia Clarke, Shakeda Gerald,Chantel Rochester and Christine Carty would be taking to the stage to entertain in a number of segments, including Body Painting Swimsuit and Creative Wear Swimsuit.
Speaking at the launch was Treesa Wyatt, Vice President of SPIRIT (Sandy Pointers Inspiring Real Improvement Throughout – the group behind the festival), who encouraged all the come out and witness a Pageant like no other.
She revealed that Claudette Peters of Antigua would not only be hosting the event, but she would also be giving an electrifying performance as only she could.
In another exciting revelation, Wyatt said the Black San's Swimsuit Pageant would soon become a regional competition, as SPIRIT is pushing to have contestants from Anguilla and St. Martin - among other islands – participate in the prestigious event.
She thanked the community for the support it has been giving not only to the pageant but the festival on a whole.
Following the launch, Elliott – the lone Nevisian contestant – spoke with SKNVibes and informed that her preparations are “coming along great”.
She disclosed that this would be her very first pageant. And when asked why a swimsuit pageant, she said that she has always been interested in Black San and saw the pageant as an opportunity to be involved in the festival as well as showcase her modelling skills.
Although shy, Elliott said she is very much ready to take to the stage and the audience could expect an amazing show as she is fully prepared to "bring it".
The Miss LIME Black San Swimsuit Pageant is one of numerous events that form the Black San Bang-a-Lang Festival.
