Eazy B has plan A and B in pursuit of successful career goals

By: Precious Mills, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AMONG a variety of music genres, there are many uprising artistes in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis who posses amazing talents which leave many people to ponder…"What if some of these artistes were to reach far and garner recognition of international fame?"

Well, for 25-year-old Hip Hop artiste Brenton ‘Eazy B’ Osborne, he has his ‘eyes on the prize’ of working towards becoming a top-rated artiste. And if that does not bear fruit, then he would have his academics to fall back on.

But if both go well…an educated artiste always gets thumbs up!

At the end of March this year, Eazy B is scheduled to depart the Federation for New York City where he would pursue studies at Monroe College to obtain a Bachelors degree in Business Management and Marketing.

“I will be leaving St. Kitts to start a new chapter in my life,” Eazy B told SKNVibes during a recent interview.

In his formative years, Eazy B had attended the Academy Primary School from Kindergarten to Grade Five, then from Grades Six to Seven at the Immaculate Conception Catholic School (formerly St. Theresa’s Convent). He then moved on to Washington Archibald High School, where he graduated in 2004 and went on to complete a one-year study at the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College.

He opened up about his desire to secure a booming career in the field of music but is mindful, nonetheless, that he would like to start a marketing company if his dream in the music industry does not reach that triumphant peak.

“My future plan is to become successful with my music career and hopefully get at least a distribution deal with a major record company. But if that does not work out, then I would love to start my own marketing/advertisement firm where you can get a one-stop shop for graphics, signs, business cards, radio ad recordings, television ad concepts and shooting…everything all in one place. But at the end of it all, my main goal in life is to have no boundaries. I want to be able to do anything that can make me happy and content in life.”

Eazy B disclosed that he is currently working on his first mixtape called ‘Fast Life’, which consists of 14 tracks and four bonus tracks. The two singles from the mixtape are called ‘Fast Life’ and ‘Good Time’.

On Friday (Mar. 1), a music video shoot for ‘Good Time’ is scheduled to take place at the G Spot Night Club in Sandy Point and Eazy B is inviting individuals to “come have good fun with good people”.

His mixtape comprises features from artistes such as Dejour, Keithston, S.M.I, DC, Amina Miller and TahMac, who was once an international act for the St. Kitts Music Festival.

He stated that beat productions for the mixtape were done by Cliff Richards of Hungry Frog Productions, Antoine ‘Zaggadon’ Adams, J. Nyce, Jeff B, Chabo, Kenny G and also Tah Mac.

Eazy B highlighted that his future mixtapes would also feature beats produced by him, since he has “recently ventured into that field of music and realised that I am very good at it”.

Asked what inspired him to arrive at the title ‘Fast Track’, Eazy B said, “I chose to call the mixtape ‘Fast Life’ because it represents my true feelings as an individual. No holds barred just raw unadulterated feelings! This is also my first ever mixtape and I have chosen not to decide on a release date as yet because it is still being fine tuned and I do not want to disappoint anyone, but it will be out very soon.”

Eazy B shared that before the release of an official album he intends to release two more mixtapes as a follow-up to the first. They would be called ‘Fast Life 2’ and ‘No Brakes’.

“So, it is clear that my future musical endeavours have already been planned out. ‘Fast Life 2’ will basically be all that I didn’t get to say on the first ‘Fast Life’ and then ‘No Brakes’ will basically be me just letting go and having fun with it. No boundaries…anything goes, so be careful when that drops.”

Eazy B recalled that he started rapping at either age 13 or 14 and he has a background on how he was influenced to enter the field of music.

“At first there was no interest in me for being an artiste. I just wrote short poems in my spare time, but I fell in love with Hip-Hop from being friends with twin brothers called Quinn and Yanick Martin who used to go to record at a guy called Ron (Shivah Frost) under his indie label called Frost Bit. One afternoon after school, I travelled with them to his house, and while listening to what they were doing I became interested and wrote my first ever rap verse and I continued from that point until now.”

As it relates to influences in the music industry, Eazy B said he is “highly influenced musically” by Jay-Z, Nas, Bob Marley, Big L, Fabolous, 2-Pac, Notorious B.I.G and Damian Marley.

He went on to say that when it comes to work ethics he is also highly influenced by Diddy and 50 Cent.

“Even though I was born and raised in a country where Soca, Dancehall and Reggae are predominant, my love lies in Rap and I write my music with the mindset of competing on an international level,” he added.
