Fire Services Department to showcase talent with week of activities

By: Loshaun Dixon, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE talent and skills of members of the St. Kitts-Nevis Fire and Rescue Services, both inside and outside of the realm of fire-fighting, will be showcased later this month when the Department hosts a week of activities.

The activities are being organised by the Fire and Rescue Services Sports Club and will include events open to the public. These include: a church service, a foot drill, a fire hose drill, basketball matches, a beach bash and fire jeopardy.

SKNVibes spoke with the Sports Club’s Public Relations Officer, Alexis Richards, who stated that the “activities are used showcase the talent of fire officers to the public”.

He went on to state that this is the second time they would be hosting such activities, expressing his expectation that this edition should be better than the previous one held in 2011.

Richards said the foot drill and fire hose drill would be held on the Bay Road in front of RAMS Supermarket and would see a competition amongst the various fire stations across the Federation.

The public – according to Richards – is urged to support and witness the events which he said would provide delight for individuals of all ages.

The week of activities is expected to run from March 24-31.
