BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A new political party, Blazing Star Movement (BSM), was launched in St. Kitts-Nevis on Saturday (Mar. 2) and many visitors to this online media house are enquiring if the founder knows what he is doing, judging from two conflicting statements he made on the party’s blogspot and on Dr. Douglas’ call-in programme ‘Ask the Prime Minister’.
The BSM was launched by its founder 26-year-old well-known Preacher and businessman Khrytus Wallace, who, in a statement on the party’s online blogspot on Sunday (Mar. 3), “has confirmed that his Youth Party will not seek election until 40 years would have passed because the nation wasn't ready for a FRESH ENERGY and wanted to remain in SUFFERING - so his group will let that be for the next 40 years”.
The Blog site informed that “Wallace said he wanted the world to look on and to see if the nation would get any better as it wanted to continue to run away from being planted on a Godly Blazing Star Movement Foundation and for this the nation will suffer”.
The site also quoted him as saying, "A nation that forgets God and tries to bring down any man of God is destined for destruction. Things will only get harder. It's the same thing that happened in Jesus' Day. For years before Jesus came, folks were praying for a Messiah and when the Messiah came - they rejected him. For years, persons have been crying out for a FRESH ENERGY and a new set of Difference Makers and when God plants the difference makers - they reject them. God answered prayers and just like in Jesus' day - the answer was rejected."
One visitor to SKNVibes’ website, on condition of anonymity, noted that “Wallace doesn’t know what he is about or where his political party is heading. He is confusing the minds of not only the young of voting age, but also the old. It was mentioned on his party’s blogspot that his party would not seek election until 40 years would have passed. This is rather confusing, for yesterday he called in to the Prime Minister’s programme and said that his party would be contesting the next General Elections. What is he up to? Perhaps only he alone knows”!
The statement made by the online visitor concerning the BSM contesting the next General Elections holds true.
Yesterday (Mar. 5), Wallace called in to the Prime Minister’s radio programme on ZIZ and among the questions he asked and statements made were…“The People’s Action Movement, they have started a smear campaign on us like they have on you. So we believe that come Polling Day, it’s going to be the Blazing Star Movement up against the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party! And so our question is…’Are you ready for us and are you afraid?”
At the launch of his party, Wallace listed some of the claimed issues affecting individuals who had reached out to the BSM.
“I must speak on behalf of dozens of youths and adults across the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis who relate in our private groups online and who relate to us daily. They are hurting. They need jobs…they are financially embarrassed. They are facing foreclosure, they can’t feed their children, they can’t afford to further their education or they have furthered their education but can’t find work and have the banks to pay.”
He continued: “The issues are numerous. Who cares? Who really cares? No one! What has continued to hurt the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, in general, is this, the divisive political behaviour on both sides The People’s Action Movement and the St. Kitts Labour Party stay fighting and fighting, criticising and battling in Court and wasting the people’s hard earned tax money. Not fair…not fair at all!
“Do their representatives care at all? Do your representatives care at all? The Blazing Star Movement has always wondered while they are fighting and fighting people need help. From the very onset we want to do what the Bible recommends prayerfully. We want to spread the love and support.”
Wallace thanked Prime Minister and Leader of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party, Dr. Denzil L. Douglas for serving and likewise Leader of the People’s Action Movement (PAM) for taking hold of opposition responsibility.
“Therefore, to the Leader of the St. Kitts Labour Party, Dr. Denzil Douglas, thank you for serving. The Bible does say to give honour to our leaders. To the Hon. Shawn Richards, representative and Leader of the People’s Action Movement, thank you for taking up the mantle in St. Kitts opposition. Best wishes.”
“Note well, when you do good the Blazing Star Movement will commend you. When you do bad we will constructively criticise to help you enact change...,” he warned.
Reverend Wallace, as he is referred to, is also the founder of Dare 2 Be Different International.
