BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FOUR juveniles were recently charged with aggravated assault which they allegedly committed against another juvenile on Wednesday (Mar. 6) in the New Road area.
According to Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Lyndon David, the four juveniles were jointly charged with the offence and, up to earlier today (Mar. 9), were still in custody awaiting bail.
The PRO declared that police are still investigating, but initial investigations revealed that the four juveniles were among a large number of others in the Ghaut aback the Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport, where they were engaged in a playful activity that got out of control.
He did not provide much details on the incident, but this media house learnt that over one dozen juveniles were involved.
Information reaching SKNVibes indicates that the incident had involved a number of fourth and fifth formers of Washington Archibald High School and a second former of the said learning institution.
It also indicated that the fourth and fifth formers had tied the second former to a tree in the Ghaut, placed a bag over his head and beat on him.
No information was gained as to the extent of injuries suffered by the New Road resident. However, it was learnt that the matter was reported to the police and the alleged perpetrators were arrested and taken into custody at the Stapleton Police Station.
Four of them were charged with aggravated assault while the others were released.
