Chavez calls Palin a “confused beauty queen”

CARACAS, Venezuela – VENEZUELAN President Hugo Chavez has called US vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin a “confused beauty queen”. The remarks are in response to her calling him “a dictator” on Friday, October 24.
According to Caribbean Net News, during a televised broadcast, Chavez said, “I saw the vice presidential candidate, there she was talking about ‘the dictator Hugo Chavez’. The poor thing, you just feel sorry for her.

“She’s a beauty queen that they’ve pulled out to be a figurehead. We need to say as Christ did: forgive her, she knows not what she’s saying.”
Chavez is a leftist who often mocks current US President George W. Bush and has an antagonistic relationship with the US.
In September he ousted the US Ambassador to Venezuela and has described the United States of America as a decadent empire.
He made headlines in 2006 by calling Bush “the devil” at a United Nations Assembly.
