New York: Hundreds of New York fashionistas are expected to walk the red carpet in sizzling outfits at the 2013 Linkage Awards that unfold at the Mt. Vernon High School in New York on Saturday, March 16. Schorching fashion styles are expected to range from classy casual wear to glamorous Grammy-style glitz.
Last year, Caribbean designers like Gold Teeth Fashion Village, Downtown Pat Brown, Flaco and Morvia Reid-Williams worked overtime to deliver their finest raiment for reggae queens like Black Barbie, DJ Lady Ann,
Catchcha Fyah, Sandy Daley and Bogie Manage who showed off a little color, style and skin on the big night.
Radio/TV host Barbie, who was voted one of the best dressed ladies at last year's event is hoping to create a stir again with her outfit that is being designed by Jamaican born Bronx designer Marsha Williams.
"I choose to wear Chi Chi Vogue because the designer is so talented, and I love her line. Chi Chi Vogue designs are a fusion of our Jamaican culture and an expression of our feminine body style" she told INL.
"I plan to take a little risk but keep it chic and to make my presence a moment to remember. As a Jamaican model its all about the sex appeal and I love to show off the cures that god blessed me with" Barbie said.
Radio host and author Sandy Daley had tongues wagging last year with her sense of style and fashion. This year, she is going all out to make another fashion statement with her China Doll outfit that is being designed by Tracy Box.
"She understand the female body. Plus she also knows my style and the looks that I like" Daley told INL.
"Her couture designs are classy, wearable and fashion forward. She has some sexy clothing that makes you look as if you spent a million dollars" she said. Daley, who will be the red carpet host and a presenter said she is hoping to create a stir.
"I never follow the crowd! My look will be classy, sexy and definitely timeless. I truly believe that I am one lady who beats to her own drum and never follow the crowd. I choose clothes that fit me and not anyone else" she said.
