BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE quietude of the early morning hours of Sunday was interrupted when the sounds of two sets of gunshot rang out causing residents to show concern about their safety.

SKNVibes understands that one of the incidents took place at Pond Road, Newtown and involved a vehicle and a Monkey Hill resident, while the other one took place in Lime Kiln involving a resident of the area and the house in which he resides.

According to a police press release, the first incident occurred at about 4:50 a.m. when “a jeep was shot at…while driving along Pond Road”.

The release informs that all three occupants of the vehicle, including Donnel Jacobs of Monkey Hill, “were able to escape unharmed but the left front door of the vehicle was damaged”.  ~~Adz:Right~~

Other information emanating from the release is that at approximately 5:00 a.m. officers at the Basseterre Police Station received a report indicating that there was gunfire in the Lime Kiln area.

Having responded to the report, the officers conducted investigations “which revealed that a house owned by Nicole Herbert of the said address was shot at. The occupant, Damian ‘Nashie’ Isaac, was able to escape without injury but a Southern Miami shutter window was damaged by bullets”.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Liburd told this media house that as far as the police are aware, the incidents are unrelated and, to date, no one has been arrested in connection with either incident.

He also informed that they are still making investigations into the occurrences.

Persons having information relative to either incident are welcomed to contact the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 465-2241 extensions 230 or 236.
