Ross University highlights programmes that benefit nationals of St. Kitts

Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St Kitts

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, March 15th 2013 (CUOPM) – Nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis has benefited from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM).

     

    Highlighting the university’s commitment to the new partnership with the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis, Bill Hughson, President, Healthcare Group, DeVry Inc. said the school in St. Kitts, supports and encourages its local colleagues to further their own educational goals by providing tuition-benefits to them and their families to complete courses at a DeVry educational institution.

     

    “More than EC $11.8 million in tuition benefits have supported 137 colleagues here in the Federation in the pursuit of their own educational and career dreams,” said Mr. Hughson.

     

    He said RUSVM also fund up to four full scholarships per year to Kittitians in pursuing a veterinary or medical degree and Ross has granted nearly EC$1 million in scholarships to local national students.

     

    “Our commitment to the community extends to the numerous ways we support national and local programmes. Commitment to programs in education, health and culture - such as the St. Kitts Sea Turtle Monitoring Network, and contributions to the Children’s Home and the J.N. France General Hospital,” Mr. Hughson told invited guests at the ground breaking ceremony for the EC$67.5 million expansion programme.

     

    He also highlighted Ross University’s commitment to programmes in animal welfare and care - such as our no cost spay programme and our monthly animal care tips radio programme, Animal Answers, in partnership with WINNFM.
