BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE are yet to identify the man whose body was found earlier today on Central Market Street and also to ascertain the cause of his death.

SKNVibes understands that the man – believed to be of young age – was discovered by a female sometime this morning after which the authorities were alerted of the find.

And according to Public Relations Officer for the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, Inspector Lyndon David, police officers arrived on the scene at about 10:00 a.m. and conducted the necessary investigations.

While at the scene, this publication observed when the young man’s body – already affected by rigor mortis – was removed from a narrow space between the Central Guest House and Apartments building and an abandoned building that sits to the south of it. These buildings are in vicinity of Jenkins Funeral Home.

After the removal, the remains were carried into the funeral home.

This publication caught wind of suggestions that the deceased might have been shot sometime last night and later succumbed to his injuries. Inspector David however said he could not comment on whether or not the body bore signs of violence or foul play.

It is on that note that he suggested persons who might have any information relative to this incident could call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477) or the Violent Crimes Unit at 662-9336.

Inspector David told SKNVibes that the name of the deceased could not be released to the media until the next of kin would have been informed.

He said it is expected that an autopsy would be performed on the remains and that investigations into the incident are being made.
