BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE man, whose body was discovered yesterday morning (Mar. 27) between two buildings on Central Market Street in Basseterre, was identified as 34-year-old- Trevor Douglas of Shear Lane.
A police release this morning stated that he is formally of St. Paul’s Village and “it is uncertain at this time the circumstances surrounding the death”.
This publication understands that a female had discovered Douglas’ motionless body lying on a narrow space between the Central Guest House and Apartments building and an abandoned building south of it in the vicinity of Jenkins Funeral Home.
This information was passed to the authorities and Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Lyndon David informed this media house that officers had arrived at the scene at about 10:00 a.m. to conduct investigations.
While at the scene, SKNVibes had observed when the young man’s body, which had already been affected by rigor mortis, was removed and taken to Jenkins Funeral Home.
This publication caught wind of suggestions that the deceased might have been shot sometime on Tuesday night (Mar. 26) and later succumbed to his injuries.
Inspector David however said he could not comment on whether or not the body bore signs of violence or foul play.
It is on that note he suggested that persons who might have any information relative to this incident could call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477) or the Violent Crimes Unit at 662-9336.
Should Douglas’ demise found to be that of murder, it will then take the count to seven committed in the twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis for this year.
