BASSETERRE, St. Kitts-THE stylish new look of Cable & Wireless LIME was officially unveiled to the public today (Nov. 3) at the company’s stores within the Federation of St. Kitts-Nevis and across the Caribbean.

Entirely replacing the bMobile brand, LIME is an acronym for Landline, Internet, Mobile and Entertainment, which Acting LIME Sales Vice President Terrence Crossman said represents the essential components of the new brand’s business.

“We wanted to go with a name that actually said what our business was. We think that LIME is fresh. It is kind of funky and you can see that in the transformation we have brought about in the store.”

Customers filed into the Cayon Street office of Cable & Wireless this morning to see the many aesthetic and customer service changes taking place because of the LIME transition.

“The customer response has been extremely positive. I think they have recognized that we have done something different, and they are just soaking it in and enjoying it. We are trying to show appreciation for our customers by having little giveaways here and there, and so we hope that they would see we are doing things differently. We couldn’t have asked for a better opening.”

Among the most interesting aspects of the new brand is the entertainment aspect, which the company will be making a central aspect of their new approach in the coming months.

“It is in some regards a prospective look,” Crossman said. “We are looking to expand our business into entertainment, as we see that as the next wave and we definitely want to be the leader in it. We want to take our customers to where the new technology is, which extends into entertainment.”

Perhaps the most exciting bit of technology news coming out of the unveiling is that customers can expect high-speed, 3G connections sometime in the future, which will allow for cutting edge features such as video on demand. While Crossman said there is no specific timetable for the 3G launch, he did say it would happen “sooner rather than later”.

Aside from the visual makeover, the executive explained that LIME’s fresh perspective also involves a more proactive approach to customer service.

“What we expect to see is a stepped improvement in how we serve our customers. As you noticed, we have someone at our door greeting our customers today, and that is something you can expect to see moving forward—that we greet you as you come in, that we’re more efficient in the way we handle customers and that we can get them in and out in an efficient and friendly way,” the VP said.

Ultimately, Crossman said he hopes customers and non-customers alike on both St. Kitts and Nevis will take the time to come to the closest store and see the dynamic changes for themselves.

“People are going to be hearing a lot more about LIME in the next few weeks, and what we want them to do, especially persons who are not currently Cable & Wireless customers, is come and test us out. Come see what LIME is all about because we know we will be able to give you a very positive experience that will make you realize we are serious about changing the way we do business in this community.”
