~~Adz:Left~~ BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Although more than 20 able-bodied individuals were recently added to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSKNPF), Commissioner of Police (COP) Austin Williams has indicated that the force is still short on manpower.
In an interview with SKNVibes, Commissioner Williams explained that the recent ceremony took the number of officers in the RSKNPF to approximately 388 and, while he is happy with the additions, many more officers are needed.
“It’s a help but we are still not up to the required membership,” the Commissioner expressed.
Since the passing out of the latest batch of officers, the RSKNPF has informed that it is accepting applications from suitably qualified individuals to join its membership, and interested persons are invited to collect applications from either the Force Personnel Office at Police Headquarters, Basseterre, St. Kitts or the Divisional Headquarters at Charlestown, Nevis.
Commissioner Williams told SKNVibes, “Ideally, we would like to have about 500 police officers in the force, which would greatly assist in our crime-fighting efforts and the protection of the citizens of St. Kitts Nevis.”
Interested persons are asked to submit their applications to the:
Force Personnel Officer
Police Headquarters
Basseterre
St. Kitts
COP Williams has indicated to SKNVibes that he is hopeful that another training course would begin shortly, which would conclude with even more officers joining the rank and file of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.
