World Report article ranking St. Kitts & Nevis as the Fourth Best Islands in the World
BASSETERRE St. Kitts, April 9th, 2013 -- In late 2011 a U.S. News and World Report Article ranked a visit to Brimstone Hill as the top thing to do when visiting St. Kitts-Nevis. Now in an article released last week this highly respected periodical has ranked St. Kitts & Nevis as the fourth best islands in the world. Only Bora Bora in the South Pacific, the Maldives in the Indian Ocean and Santorini (Greece) ranked higher.
The only other Caribbean islands to make the Top Ten were the Cayman Islands and St. Martin-St. Maarten (8 and 9 respectively). It is obvious from reading the article that our rich and unique heritage was a decisive factor in this ranking and the Brimstone Hill Fortress was the attraction in St. Kitts & Nevis which received most prominent mention in the article.
As it celebrates its 48th Anniversary the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park Society remains committed to striving towards excellence in interpreting the history of Brimstone Hill and related sites such as Charles Fort and the Sandy Point Anchorage. We call on all nationals to play their part in preserving our rich heritage.
